My Little Porker!

Gavin has been having trouble eating anything with texture since I began trying to feed him things other than baby. Well, one day he just started eating cheerio's which he had to chew, and ever since then, he eats EVERYTHING!! He never really wanted to eat either...He would eat maybe one good meal a day (usually at supper) and a little bit of lunch, but would barely touch anything for breakfast. He only wanted his bottle. Now he eats 3 FULL meals a day, plus some! Today, he had almost a whole pack of oatmeal (instant oatmeal) for breakfast, and sweet potatoes and corn and yogurt for lunch. He loves yogurt, which is what is on his face in the pictures! For supper, he will have his leftover pasta stars and green beans! I can't believe he likes green beans, he HATED the green bean baby food! I was honestly getting worried, because he didn't eat much, and was worried he would have trouble coming off of his formula at 1 year old, because he was still taking 5-6 bottles a day. That is 40-48 oz of formula! But, now he only takes 3 bottles a day, 1 when he wakes up, 1 when he goes down for his morning nap, and one at bedtime! We are about to start weaning him off the morning nap time bottle too! Wish me luck!

That is such a wonderful turning point when the three solids start going down! Gavin is precious, and congrats on your twin pregnancy!

He's getting to be a big boy now!! You don't realize it now but you will miss him letting you hold him and give him a bottle. Well, maybe not I forgot you have TWINS on the way. Double Trouble:)

He's so cute!

We had trouble with Ryan hating all foods with texture. He'd act like he was choking on Gerber puffs and it was so incredibly frustrating to know he was not actually choking, that he was just being a picky toddler. But we just kept with the baby food until he could handle textures (about 13 months I think) and then he never wanted baby food again. Pasta is a great starter food (Penne/Mini Rigatoni- all easy to pick up).

If you have trouble getting him off of bottles (like I really can give advice on this, I just took away the last bottles about a month ago!), dilute the whole milk/formula with half water. That was the ped's advice and it worked. They didn't like it so watered down so then they would just throw the bottle at us from their crib and after having to clean it up 3 nights in a row, we were done. I pitched them all so we would never give in!

Great idea to mix whole milk/formula, he will get used to it!
Mine are on milk strike right now. They don't want it cold and I am sick of trying to get chocolate milk stains out of their clothes so thats out now too. They drink a lot of lemonade and ice water so I know they aren't dehydrated but I still wish they'd drink some milk once in awhile.

About the contractions, I think I started having them around 29 weeks or so. That was my last week of work and I pretty much lived on the loveseat all day everyday for the next 6 weeks. By 33 weeks though I had them so bad it would literally make me puke every single time. Finally I went to the hospital at 34w5d and said I wasn't leaving til they delivered the babies because I was so miserable (ended up the next morning one of the babies' placentas abrupted and it was a good thing I was there).

You should put up pics of the twins' nursery so we can all see how cute it looks!

WOOHOO to the Big Guy Gavin!

I saw your comments over on Brianne's blog and wanted to say to make sure you take it easy!
I had my first REALLY bad contractions at 28 weeks & had steroids. Then, they continued on and on for the duration of my pregnancy.
I am guessing you have hit that point. So, make sure you are off your feet as much as possible
